ATMA’s founder, Mr. Chen Tung-Chin, was born into a farming family in southern Taiwan. From an early age, he understood that mastering a skill was the only way to transform one’s future. After enlisting in the military in 1971, his technical background led to his assignment at a military arsenal, where he served for nearly three years. There, he learned the principles of standardized processes and disciplined manufacturing practices.

Following his military service, he entered Suzuki Motor in 1975, where he witnessed the vital role of technical strength and modularization in ensuring quality. However, constrained by academic limitations, his path to promotion was blocked—planting the seeds of entrepreneurial ambition.

What began as an unintended success has grown into a thriving path -- starting from a practical need, we have built a long-term journey focused on technical excellence

During a visit to a bank, Mr. Chen noticed that staff manually changed the date stamp every day. Inspired by this simple observation, he began developing a perpetual calendar. However, he soon encountered difficulties with date printing.

Determined to solve the problem, he proactively studied screen printing technology. Encouraged by his mentor, he entered the screen printing field—starting with a simple wooden manual-printing table that cost only NT$500. Through continuous experimentation and refinement, he gradually developed a vacuum manual printing machine, which gained recognition in the market.

What began as an attempt to solve a small inconvenience ultimately led him deeply into the path of screen printing innovation—planting the seed for ATMA’s founding in 1979.

Founded in 1957, SPS originated from German precision engineering craftsmanship. For over 70 years, precision, accuracy, speed, durability, and convenience have remained our core values. SPS has long specialized in high-precision screen printing solutions, widely applied across graphic printing, automotive dashboards, flexible circuits, ceramic transfers, and security anti-counterfeiting industries.

Beginning in 2012, SPS entered into a strategic partnership with ATMA of Taiwan, integrating German engineering excellence, Asian high-precision mass production capabilities, and a global marketing and service network.

In 2014, the first SPS machine manufactured by ATMA was officially launched, achieving comprehensive upgrades in quality stability and cost competitiveness. Since then, both companies have continued to collaborate on the development of next-generation fully digital-controlled and fully automated production lines.

In 2025, a CCD intelligent direct-drive high-speed screen printing machine was introduced. After rigorous market validation, it has become a mainstream model—continuously evolving classic technology and establishing us as a trusted long-term partner for our customers."
